Chinmaya Mission UK's Year 10 Workshop
Thank you to the Chinmaya Mission UK who delivered a workshop to Year 10 PTE students this week. The workshop aimed to engage our students with the deeper origins and development of Hinduism, helping them to move beyond surface knowledge to appreciate the rich historical and philosophical foundations within Hinduism.
We looked into the importance of the sacred scripture of the Bhagavad Gita, which was explored as profound philosophical guide, shaping ethical decision-making and everyday behaviour. Students were encouraged to see how these teachings remain relevant in day-to-day modern life.
Central to the workshop was the concept of Karma, which challenges common (Western) ideas about success and happiness by emphasising effort over attachment to results; teaching that true fulfilment comes from performing one’s duties with sincerity while trusting in the outcome.
Overall, the session inspired students to reflect on their perspectives of responsibility, purpose and inner contentment in relationship to their academic GCSE PTE study, as well as their everyday life.
