The original Odyssey Teaching School Alliance (now known as Odyssey Learning Alliance) was formed back in 2013. Managed and administrated by Pate's Grammar School, and with the Gloucestershire Learning Alliance MAT as our Primary Strategic Partner, the alliance worked for 8 years with a range of schools across Gloucestershire providing support, training and opportunities for collaboration.
In January 2021, the DfE announced the replacement of smaller Teaching School Alliances, with larger Teaching School Hubs. Pate's was awarded the SW2 region and is now, under the new system, Odyssey Teaching School Hub is proudly responsible for the provision of ITT, the ECF, NPQs and CPD across 140 schools in Gloucester, Tewksbury and The Forest of Dean.
In addition to this, Pate's is designated as one of 23 National Computing Hubs. Working across Gloucestershire, North Wiltshire, Swindon, Bristol and Bath, this is part of the National Centre for Computing Education and partnership with Adfecto, Pate’s Grammar School and the NCCE.
