Students and Staff in the Community

Our school's 2025 vision makes reference to the importance we place on 'community' - both our own within school, but also equally importantly our engagement with the wider community in which we live, learn and work. Students of all ages at Pate's engage with a wide range of local community organisations - reading with younger students in local primary schools, visiting local care homes and supporting local charities. Our students play a key role in our primary outreach work, facilitating (alongside Pate' staff) a range of activities from community cookery sessions, to maths, music and science workshops for local primary age pupils. Many local organisations use the school's facilities on a weekly basis and we are proud to support the local Hester's Way Community Partnership.  We regularly welcome members of the community into school to talk in assemblies and to share events and activities. If you or an organisation you are associated with would like to explore developing closer links with the school, please do contact us at

"Thank you so much for inviting us to your Year 8 Christmas Community Event - it was wonderful to spend the afternoon being entertained and looked after by your young people. It was the highlight of my week, Christmas has now started!" (Local Elderly Resident)
