PATE'S IN THE COMMUNITY

“Shaping the Future” and “Supporting Each Other” are two of our core school values, so it is incredibly important to us at Pate’s that our students are given opportunities to engage with and work alongside the local community. We feel passionately that our learners should feel a keen sense of social responsibility and stewardship for their local environment and we actively encourage this throughout their time at Pate’s.

Students from across Years 7-13 engage in a range of activities that help to integrate them fully into the community that we serve and support charities and organisations that are close to our hearts.

Just some of these opportunities include; food collections for our local partners at the West Cheltenham Community Pantry (WCCP), Christmas Cards for Cheltenham Care Homes initiative, Valentine’s Day Care Home Projects, Community Gardening, Community Concerts, Litter Picking, volunteering at local organisations like Family Space, as well as inspiring learning in our local Cheltenham primary students through our Shaping Futures programme.

Many of these initiatives are planned and led by our enthusiastic and resourceful Sixth Form Community Committee, who play a key role in organising and sourcing areas which we can get involved with as a school.

There is something for every learner, in every year group. The duty to support others and champion making a positive difference are characteristics that are instilled in our learners. Personal qualities which they take with them on the next step of their journeys when they leave Pate’s, wherever that may be.
