House Drama is back!
Tuesday 12th & Wednesday 13th July, 2 pm and 6.30 pm shows
House Drama is one of Pate’s biggest showcase performances, and we are excited to restore it to its former glory this year. As in previous years, this event offers opportunities for students in Years 7-10 to be a part of their House production led by their newly elected House Official team. The following titles were drawn from the hat on the last day of the Spring term:
Beaufort – Treasure Island
Gloucester – Wizard of Oz
Pembroke – The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe
Richmond – Alice in Wonderland
York – The Jungle Book
The PPA will be providing their usual refreshment service and hamper raffle at all four performances so do let us know if you have an offer of help at what is an absolutely wonderful Pate's event! Email PAVolunteers@patesgs.org - thank you.

Spring Quiz February 4th 2022
After going online last year, we were really happy to once again be able to run our annual Spring Quiz at Pate's on Friday 4th February with this year's theme 'The Olympics'.As requested, teams came with their quiz heads on and armed with a picnic to fuel competitive brains! With the PPA running a bar of soft and alcoholic drinks, a raffle and an interval game it was a really fun night and felt brilliant to be face-to-face again!
Online Christmas Raffle 2021
For the second year running our major Autumn fundraiser was the online Christmas raffle. This year we are aiming to raise £10,000 to help the school fund the creation of a new Science lab - a facility which EVERY student will benefit from. We have so far raised over nearly £9,000 and we we hope that we can achieve our £10,000 target through match funding - if there are any parents who work for a company that is able to match fund this online event then please email PAmatch@patesgs.org for further details.

Recent Events
We were very happy to support two events in quick succession in November - the Autumn Concert and Diwali, both of which showcased the amazing talents of our students.

Online Zoom Quiz 7pm Friday 16th April 2021
Following the huge success of the February PPA Quiz, we have asked our fabulous quiz master Simon to return with another of his exciting online quizzes. Gather your competitive family members around you and share your knowledge in this fiercely fought battle of the brains! This date is during the Easter holidays so please email PAtickets@patesgs.org ASAP to register your interest and to book your place. Entry is £20 per team (or more if you are able please) and all proceeds from the evening will go towards Making £nds Meet.
Online Zoom Quiz 7pm Friday 5th February 2021
A huge thank you to the 49 teams of Pate’s families who shook themselves out of their lockdown stupor and took part in our annual PPA quiz. It was a highly competitive but good humoured battle and in the end there was only one winner - massive congratulations must go to Team ‘Paters Gonna Pate’ who won with an amazing score of 158/160! As always, quiz master Simon Lewis created an exciting and entertaining quiz with 16 rounds of varied topics. Although this time it was all virtual, it was as slick as ever and as one contestant said it “actually felt like we had been on a night out!”. The evening managed to raise a wonderful £1000 for the school through the entry fee – thank you to all the participants for their support.
If you like to quiz then watch this space for news on another later on in the Spring!
Online Christmas Raffle raises as incredible £9,040 - and still more to come!
This was our only ‘event’ this Autumn term and we were aiming to try and not only match what we would usually raise by Christmas, but also cover the cost of many of the additional items which school has had to unexpectedly purchase in order to keep the school Covid-19 safe and ensure the continuation of teaching and learning to all. We set ourselves an ambitious target of raising £10,000 and we are so nearly there! We can achieve the target through match funding - if there are any parents who work for a company that is able to match fund the event then please email PAmatch@patesgs.org
PPA AGM Wednesday 7th October

Spring Fair Saturday 7th March 2020 10 am - 12.30 pm Hall, Gym, Sports Hall & Art Gallery
Our biggest fundraiser of the year saw us raising funds for the PE department - sport underpins so much that is precious at Pate's and the department pitched in to help us in amongst their sports fixtures on the field. The bowling machine went down a storm and the 60 Second Netball Challenge was definitely a challenge that brought out the competitive spirit! The Year 7, 8 & 9 students excelled themselves on their stalls and shoppers were entertained by the School's Jazz Band who performed wonderfully. The ever popular Cake Stall and Cafe did a roaring trade in refreshments and the paperless raffle went without a hitch! Thank you so much for your support - a final figure raised will be released soon!
