FUNDRAISING

Please support our Pate’s Giving appeal and help us raise the £160,000 we need this academic year!

Since 2015 we have been actively fundraising as we began to feel the impact of decreasing Government funding and finding ourselves, like many other schools, facing significant financial pressure. Even though we’ll be receiving additional funding this year, it is still only at a similar level to that received in 2009/10, so as you can see, there is a real need to ‘fill our funding gap’.

The vital additional income that Pate’s Giving generates has been instrumental in allowing us to continue to provide our students with the best education possible and avoiding sweeping cuts to their whole school experience. We want to ensure that the excellent academic experience, pastoral provision and all the exciting extra-curricular opportunities we offer remain at current levels during this academic year and indeed for the longer term.

We’re inviting our generous parents, grandparents, alumni and the wider Pate’s community to help us achieve this year’s challenging goal of raising

£160,000by the end of August 2024.

Please consider becoming one of our Pate’s Giving supporters today, with a regular or single gift. By supporting our appeal, you will be making a tangible difference to the student experience we can offer here at Pate’s. A donation at whatever level will be much appreciated and help us get that much closer to this year’s important goal.  Please read on to find out how you can donate – I hope we can count on your support!

Thank you on behalf of all our students.

MAKING A DONATION TO PATE'S GIVING

Many parents choose to support us with a regular gift that can be made monthly, quarterly or annually. By donating in this way you provide Pate’s with a regular income that enables us to plan ahead and use your donation more effectively. But of course we also welcome single gifts too.

It’s quick and easy to donate, there are two options:

Go online and make a Single Donation or set up a regular Standing Order through your own Bank or Building Society into our Pate’s Grammar School account:  Barclays Bank plc, SORT CODE: 20-20-23, Account No: 13763730

We like to acknowledge every donation we receive so please email alex.gregory@patesgs.org to let us know about your gift, thank you.

OR

If you prefer to make your donation by cheque you can download the Pate’s Giving Donation Form below:

Pate’s Giving Donation Form

Please complete this form in full and return to:
The Development Office,
Pate’s Grammar School,
Princess Elizabeth Way,
Cheltenham,
GL51 0HG.

If it is easier, your child can simply hand in your completed form at reception, thank you.

GIFT AID

Please consider gift aiding your donation if you are in a position to do so; as an exempt charity, Pate’s is able to reclaim the basic rate of tax on your gift. So for every pound you give, we get an extra 25p from HMRC – they are actually our biggest single donor!

Please note: If you made your donation using online banking and would like to Gift Aid your donation then we can set that up for you. Simply copy the Gift Aid declaration below – including your name – and email it to alex.gregory@patesgs.org – thank you.

I want to Gift Aid my donation and any donations I make in the future or have made in the past 4 years: I am a UK taxpayer and understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year it is my responsibility to pay any difference [NAME HERE]

WHY WE GIVE

“We felt strongly that we should contribute to the school’s ‘Pate’s Giving’ appeal and so set up a regular monthly donation. We want to ensure that Pate’s continues to be the exceptional school that pupils enjoy, and can benefit from all that Pate’s currently offers; the quality of teaching, wide variety of opportunities and excellent facilities resulting in an outstanding education for all pupils.”

Year 9 & 12 Parents

“I think of Pate’s as a bit like Hogwarts – it is a place where magic happens. It takes bright young teenagers and turns them into motivated and high achieving but caring young adults. I feel uplifted every time I visit the school.

But it can’t happen without money – and the current funding provided by government is inadequate. It is incredible what opportunities the school provides the students with the limited resources they have and so I’m very happy to do what I can to financially assist this fantastic school through their ‘Pate’s Giving’ appeal. It is one of the best uses of the money I spend.”
