We are looking for a highly capable, enthusiastic and well qualified French Assistant to help with French classes in small groups.
The post would ideally suit a native French speaker, possibly a French graduate, with a keen interest in youth culture, current affairs, film and literature and a strong feel for grammar. Previous knowledge of key topics covered at A Level and the AQA syllabus would be advantageous.
Main responsibilities will be planning for one-to-one and pair work sessions with Sixth Form students. The main aim is to improve the pupils’ fluency, pronunciation, confidence, building vocabulary and inspiring a deeper interest in French and Francophone culture and some assessment support.
FLA’s work closely within the collaborative ethos of the Language Faculty. Guidance will be given but you will be expected to manage your own time and resources and work with younger students regularly to complement their timetabled lessons.
Pate’s combines a relaxed atmosphere with academic rigour, and the pupils are a pleasure to teach. The school has superb facilities in new buildings on a spacious site. We recognise that our staff are the most important reason for the school’s success and we invest heavily in the professional development of our team.
