Class of 2024 Leavers’ Concert

Our Leavers’ Concert on Wednesday 1 May was an exposé of Pate’s at its best; modest, professional, personal. The cabaret setting provided the intimacy of being in someone’s front room, whilst witnessing world class performances! From Big Band, choral groups and Pate’s Symphony Orchestra to instrumental and vocal soloists, the whole evening was a massive musical feat and treat. Thank you to all who contributed to such an exceptional experience and well done Year 13 – your expressive talent and flair will be long remembered here at PGS!

This year’s joint-Winner of the Dean Stubbs Cup for Services to Pate’s Music, Sophie reflects on musical journey here,
“From my first orchestra taster day back in Year 7 to conducting Gloucester’s orchestra during House Music this year, Music at Pate’s has been a massive part of my time at school. Singing Handel for the Coronation, solo performances at the Pump Rooms, and last year’s tour to France and Belgium are just a few of my highlights.

What made our Leavers’ Concert so special was not only the standard of music (shoutout to Michael and Sebastian for their amazing solo performances) but the spirit of celebration and seizing the moment together. As we prepare to leave for university and the world beyond, I feel so lucky to have known all these talented, kind and hardworking people. Music is like life -better when you have the right people to share it with. Thank you to the Music department, Miss Lane, Mr Pilkington-Crowe and especially Mrs Mew, who will be retiring this year, for making all of this possible. We couldn’t have done it without you!”
